Chasing Eurovision glory, Jessica Mauboy will represent Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest this year 2018, back in 2014, Mauboy made history when she performed as an interval act in Copenhagen, Denmark, leaving Eurovision Aficionados in shock as the first non-European solo artist to do so.
This is the fourth year that Australia enter such competitions, leaving a remarkable record of top three to finish within the top ten, The fifth place was taken by Guy Sebastian in 2015, and the second by Dami Im in 2016, and Isaiah Firebrace took the ninth place in 2017, Australia took the second place after Sweden with the following results 5th 2th and 9th.
“Eurovision shows how much the power of song can transcend differences,” Jessica said today. “I will sing my heart out for Australia, I’m so proud to be officially representing my country and a little bit nervous – mainly about the stress of the dress!”
The Eurovision Song Contest is the world’s largest television music competition and in 2017, the Semi Finals and Grand Final attracted 182 million* viewers worldwide and reached more than three million Australians.

In 2018, the Eurovision Song Contest will be hosted for the first time ever by Portugal, in its capital city of Lisbon, after Salvador Sobral won the 2017 competition with his love ballad Amar Pelos Dois.
