HUMAN LEAGUE STAR CLASHES WITH AIRLINE OVER BOOT BAN

Singer Joanne Catherall doesn’t seem to have success at her feet, despite all the records the Human league have sold.

She stated that the Qantas staff picked her out, shook her up and turned her around at the Melbourne Australia airport when they saw the boots she was wearing as she tried to enter their business lounge.

They told her that her boots are sleepwear, and suggested she buy a new pair of shoes at one of the airports shops.

“Denied access Qantas business class lounge in Melair Melbourne Airport apparently UGG (Australia) Boots are deemed sleepwear by the lady working there although no problem in any of the other lounges so far,” she tweeted. “Helpfully she suggested I go to one of the shops & purchase some shoes.”

Qantas was undeterred and unapologetic about the experience tweeting a response to Catherall.
“Hi Joanne, we endeavour to remain consistent and uphold our Lounge’s dress guidelines to all our guests.”

Qantas representatives included a link to the airline’s policy regarding what attire is acceptable in their lounge, which specifically bans UGGs.

But she replied, wondering, “Why would an UGG boot I wear outdoors in all weathers be classed as sleepwear in Qantas lounge but nowhere else that I have ever been on this earth?”

She also questioned why she wasn’t denied entry to Qantas lounges in two other Australian cities while wearing them. Qantas promised to take her feedback into consideration.
