Police Department of Santa Monica confirms receiving report of sexual misconduct.
Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone is threatening to sue a woman whom he says falsely accused him of rape.
Stallone’s attorney Marty Singer stated Mr Stallone was reacting to an accusation of raping a woman in his office in Santa Monica in 1990.
Mr Stallone admitted having met the woman during a movie shoot but he said no rape occurred.
He also denies seeing her at all in 1990, when the alleged incident is said to have taken place.
Santa Monica police department spokesman confirmed receiving a report claiming “some sort of sexual misconduct from back in the 1990s involving Mr Stallone”.
“We’re still looking into it and are going to investigate the matter” and forward findings to the district attorney’s office, Lt Saul Rodriguez told the media.
Mr Stallone faced a separate allegation of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl earlier this year.
The claim surfaced in a decades-old police report obtained and published by the Daily Mail.
“This is a ridiculous, categorically false story. No one was ever aware of this story until it was published today, stated Mr. Stallone,”
Mr Stallone rejected the initial claims as false.
