Scientist experience depended on weight loss and some sort of diet, and patients spent up to 5months on a low-calorie diet of soups and shakes to trigger massive weight loss.
The trial is a landmark and has the potential to help millions of patients, the charity Diabetes UK said.

The trial results, simultaneously published in the Lancet medical journal and presented at the International Diabetes Federation, showed.
